i’m currently experimenting with the concept and writing practice of open writing

the idea of open writing is to make one’s live, working documents open and publicly available from as early in the writing process as one is comfortable with

i think there are many good reasons to do this in academic writing, particularly given the rise of large language models (llms). and i am currently preparing a paper using the open writing approach that outlines these reasons and advocates for the adoption of open writing among researchers

i am also exploring the concept and practice of experimental academic writing (or x-writing)*

the idea is x-writing is to abandon the typical stylistic restrictions of academic writing and publishing

again, i think there are good reasons to do this, particularly given the rise of llms. and again, i’m currently preparing a paper using the x-writing (and open writing) approach(es) that outlines these reasons and advocates for the broad adoption of x-writing among academics
